The Indian Pythons are one of the largest snakes having similar killing techniques of that of The Anaconda and The Boa,these are common in India ,Sri Lanka,Some parts of Indies.Pythons generally grow upto 23 ft.and generally found near rivers preying on fishes ,birds and other animals.These generally prefer staying on tree branches waiting for its prey ,Pythons generally wrap around its prey killing it as it stops breathing it is a general misconception that it tries to stop the heart functioning or tries to break the bones of its prey but making the prey suffocate is its real goal.If a python eats a live deer it may not have to hunt for months even a year.Pythons may live for more than twenty years and has grown about 32ft(largest recorded).
For centuries, humans have killed pythons out of fear. Snakes of all kinds are also hunted for food, skins, and blood believed to have medicinal values. They are killed to order in Thai markets so customers can drink the fresh blood, thought to impart vitality. Python and other snake skins are made into fashionable accessories such as purses, shoes, and belts.
Snakes often are skinned alive so as not to mar the skin and reduce their commercial value. Even before snakeskin boots were fashionable, pythons were considered a trophy species and hunted heavily by Europeans. More recently, they have become sought after for the pet trade and for zoos.These have made a serious concern to its population,hence we should all stand together and shall demand for the safety of these creatures
